Performance & Use Case
BB Alpha is designed to outlast the frame it is fitted to. Where standard bottom brackets wear out within a season under contamination from water and grit, BB Alpha is engineered for long-term durability without sacrificing the low friction that ceramic bearings deliver. For road, tri and track riders building a long-life road bike, it is the bottom bracket that won’t be the weak link.
Construction & Materials
Each BB Alpha unit features hardened stainless steel races hand-built with grade 3 Silicon Nitride ceramic balls. Custom-engineered seals and precision dust covers together provide up to 500% better moisture protection than standard bottom brackets, while still maintaining ultra-low friction. A simplified spacer tube design and lighter cups give a 10% weight saving over previous BB Alpha generations and make installation quicker.
Compatibility
Fits any frameset with a BB30 press-fit shell – 68mm width, 42mm bore. Two spindle-compatibility options cover the major road crankset standards: Shimano Hollowtech II (24mm) and SRAM DUB (28.99mm). Select the variant that matches your existing crankset. All BB Alpha models are backed by CeramicSpeed’s lifetime warranty.
