Performance & Use Case
The SRAM Red XG-1290 E1 12-Speed Cassette is SRAM’s top-tier road cassette – the lightest and crispest-shifting cassette in the SRAM range. The 10-tooth small sprocket allows SRAM’s road drivetrains to use smaller chainrings (typically 46/33 or 48/35) while retaining a road race top-end speed. Four gear range options cover the spread from race-tight to gravel-friendly climbing.
Construction & Materials
One-piece X-Dome machined construction – the cassette is CNC-machined from a single piece of steel, giving low weight and exceptional shift precision over conventional pinned-sprocket designs. Flattop chain profile compatibility – the 12-speed system requires the SRAM Flattop chain.
Compatibility & Variants
SRAM XDR driver body. Compatible with SRAM AXS 12-speed road groupsets – Red, Force, Rival. Requires SRAM Flattop 12-speed chain. Four gear ratio options: 10-28 (race-tight), 10-30 (all-purpose road), 10-33 (mixed terrain) and 10-36 (gravel/climbing-friendly). Select the gear range that matches your terrain.
